Copywriting Services
Who is a copywriter?
A copywriter is someone who writes copy; often called sales copy.
A copywriter is NOT someone who copies writing.
What is copy?
Copy is anything that your organization puts out to be seen by your prospects, your customers or anyone likely to purchase your product or services.
- If you have a website, or print a brochure you have copy.
- If you publish a whitepaper to send out as lead generation tool, you use copy.
- A bumper sticker on your car with your company's name on it - that's copy too.
- If you issue a print advertisement in the newspaper or magazine you have copy.
- If I hear your name mentioned on the radio on my way to work, you probably created copy.
- If you have a direct mail package in the mail, your customers are reading your copy.
- If you have an e-zine ad, a banner ad or a PDF report that your prospects can download, you have copy.
- If you publish a catalog or you sent out press releases, you have copy.
- Do you write emails to your list? - You guessed it; you are writing copy.
So, anything that you use to promote your business and that lead people to your company's products and services needs someone to create copy.
And a copywriter is someone who creates copy.
But just anyone who writes a letter addressed to your customer is Not A Copywriter either.
Keywords here are specializes, targeted and specific. There is a major difference between writing an article for giving information and writing a direct mail package that requires the client to send a check or go to a website or click Order.
- A copywriter is someone who knows the emotions and fears of your customer.
- He understands what your customer loves, what he hates, what surprises her and what she anticipates.
- He knows what creates pride in your customer and what causes him irritation.
- A copywriter worth his salt takes the trouble to learn and truly understand your customer.
And why does a copywriter need to understand his subjects?
So that prospects reading your letter identify you as a kindred spirit; then come to look upon your product as the answer to their most vexing problems; then come to the realization that their life is going to be better as a direct result of using your product.
And they realize that they need to buy your product now, or suffer grievous loss.
And they bring out their card, or their check books and place an order.
That is ultimately what you want in your business, isn't it?
